These photos of communion trays seemed appropriate to share during this week leading up to Easter. Commonly referred to as Holy Week, this time period is when Christians remember and celebrate Jesus’ sacrificial death on the cross, and more importantly, his resurrection. Jesus took some bread, broke it into pieces, and shared it with his disciples telling them that it represented his body that would be broken for them. He also took a cup of wine, shared it with his disciples and told them that it represents his blood that would be shed for them. His death and resurrection was an undoing of the separation between God and man unleashed by Adam and Eve’s choice to disobey God. Jesus died so that man could be restored in his relationship with God.
